About the Exhibit

The work in ‘Shared Space’ is based around the theme of Modernism and the late-19th and early-20th century players within the art movements it spawned. In the spirit of Modernist experimentation, I’ve altered, filtered, processed, and remixed artists’ own sketches, portraits, and self-portraits, superimposing those who inspired/pushed/loved/hated each other, manifesting in this new work of resin coated ink image transfer collages on wood panels.

This series is essentially a sub-series of my extensive Pop Hybrids work, wherein I examine multiplicity and the fluidity of identity by combining two or more notable personalities - represented by highly stylized and processed graphic imagery - into a single new iconic image, challenging the viewer to decipher the multi-portrait while making sardonic, metaphorical and sometimes philosophical statements.
